The name Chandrashila, which means the ‘moon rock’ is a summit that offers a panoramic view of the majestic Himalayas. The base camp of this trek Chopta is called “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand” because of its jaw-dropping scene of a virgin landscape. There are so many stories related to this place, prominently it is called that Hindus more revered Lord Ram meditated at this place before defeating the evil whose name is Ravana.

The trek starts from Chopta and takes one to Tungnath temple(the highest Shiva temple in the World) distancing approximately 5 KM. The trek can be undertaken throughout the year but winter offers some more memories, however, sometimes due to snowfall, these treks become hard.
